A LETTER FROM KELLY
Dear Friends,
Only my inner circle knows this, but in my spare time I make postcard collages to send to my friends and family. I started doing this during a very lonely time in my life, the year after graduating college when I had just moved to Brooklyn. I found a funky postcard in a coffee shop and the rest is history. I loved assembling scraps from magazines, detritus and ephemera, paper fortunes from cookies, ticket stubs, and funny quotes from discarded paperback books into a 4x6 rectangle that would someday be put in a mailbox with a hope, a prayer, and a stamp. I loved writing messages on my creations. They didn’t require responses. They were just intimate notes written by me on something I made for a friend that I was deeply missing. During that difficult year, it was the way I felt connected to the most important people in my life.
At Keen, we believe in the power of making art with your hands. Keen has always been led by people who follow their hearts. We are a small Off-Broadway company trying to be a beacon in a dark time. We keep things lean, nimble, and we are constantly evolving to keep Keen keening. It’s tough, but so far we are managing thanks to the generosity of our community. There’s no such thing as a drop in the bucket at Keen. Every donation helps. As you consider what you can do to support theater, know that your dollars go very far at Keen.

Major gifts go towards underwriting the fees for Keen’s Mixtape Curators and artists.
PERK: Not only does a gift of $2500 grant you co-sponsorship of a Mixtape evening of your choice, a gift of $2500+ made between 11/12-12/31/25 will also reward you with an original watercolor of your home by the one and only esteemed theater scenographer, Edward T. Morris (Kelly’s husband).
